This seems like a great resource. In all honesty, I haven’t listened to any of these lectures yet, but I hope to this weekend. I’ll let you know if there are any you shouldn’t miss! I would also love to hear what you think.

04.06.2011 at 11:24I’ve only heard the Bill Carroll talk thus far, and it was definitely worth watching and following the lessons in the future. I like how he expresses the importance of building relationships, not simply finding gallery representation. The art world can seem like such an other world at times (intentionally), and it could really be helpful for artists to see how the business of art could be most other relationships. Sharon did a good job moderating as well.

04.06.2011 at 13:48You are absolutely right about listening to Bill Caroll’s talk — definitely worth it. I started listening to Desiderio’s and Cotton’s lectures, but they aren’t as informative as Bill Caroll’s Career Development Workshop.

04.06.2011 at 14:47I had no idea it was customary to give the Gallery a piece of your art after a show. Did you know that?

04.06.2011 at 15:56Nope, I had no idea it was customary to do that. I can only imagine how often ignorance was mistaken for rudeness. If Fred Wilson didn’t know it was customary, most of us didn’t have a chance to know.
