Standard Mentorship (Fundamental Skills) – Reservation Fee

In this 4-month mentorship program, we’ll focus on mastering foundational skills and gradually applying them to different subjects, helping you become a well-rounded artist. Each month builds on the previous one, blending technical growth with artistic vision:
 

February: We’ll discuss your artistic goals, analyze a painting you’re proud of, and cover essential topics like composition, value studies, and understanding light on form. Through structured assignments, you’ll explore good practices such as thumbnail sketches, Notan studies, and working with value using a simple subject like a sphere.

March: Develop foundational skills through still life from life. Using an apple, we will analyze the composition, block-in the color, and refine the painting. Glazing techniques will also be introduced.

April: Build on those skills with a floral painting. Explore how to create dynamic compositions, layer colors effectively, and capture the essence of floral subjects.

May: Apply your technical skills to portraiture. Focus on proportions, observing light and shadow on the face, painting natural skin tones, and creating a lifelike portrayal.

You’ll meet weekly via Zoom for live class sessions, receive detailed feedback on your progress, and have access to all mentorship recordings and resources for a year—or as long as you remain a mentee. This program blends technical training with your artistic vision, setting you on a path to long-term growth.
