Learn how to capture an accurate likeness when painting a portrait from life. This 10-week class will cover how to use light and shadow to model the form using oil paint. Develop your skills blocking the composition directly on the canvas, measuring main landmarks, and massing in large value areas. The importance of comparing values, measuring, finding edges, and looking for color relationships will be discussed.

You will be guided through the process with a series of short demonstrations and individual critiques of your work. The class is open to people of all skill levels.
